Tucson Gem and Mineral Show



Since the mid -50's the city of Tucson has been home to the Gem and Mineral Show. Since it's inception from a small gathering of enthusiasts in a one room venue, it has grown steadily in scope, size and variety of goods. The first part of February tents and motel patios and rooms fill with a wide variety of gems, lapidary, equipment, beads and so many enticements it is hard to describe. It is one huge party where friends meet each year gathering for an adventure and inspiration.

One of our favorite stops is the African Village where one can buy beads, furniture, art sculpture and rugs.

We stayed north of Tucson in the beautiful Catalina Mountain area.
Below is a view of these mountains . On our way back to Gold Canyon I took these shots during a passing storm.
