Superstition Mountain Wildflower report


March 13, 2010
Along the base of the Superstition Mountains going East toward Peralta Trailhead.

Wildflowers seen:
Blue Dichelostemma, Mexican Poppy, Bladderpod, Fairy Duster, Desert Daisy, Trixis, Yellow evening Primrose, Scorpionweed, Fiddleneck, Desert Chicory, Cryptantha or Popcorn flower, Globe Mallow, Mirabilis, Lupine,Phacelia, Four O'clock and Filaree.
The Ocotilla are just starting to bloom as well as Brittlebush in certain area.
Chuparosa abundant near "hummingbird" alley.
It will be warm this week and the wildflowers should be at their peak.

Yesterday a Mohave rattlesnake was seen on the Heiroglyphic trail.
